Message: 3rd time at Royal Lahaina. It was an affordable hidden gem but they've raised the room rates roughly 40% since 2020, added then increased a daily resort fee to $40/day+tax, then parking went from free to $35/day+tax. The rooms are nice but starting to show their age, the Location however is Great. Unless you don't mind a lot of noise both late and early, do not stay in an Ocean Front room. We were on the 3rd floor just above the restaurant, which has live music until 9pm which sounds like they're in your room even with the slider closed. After the live music is done, they turn on music until 10pm which you can still hear in the room. Then around 6:15-6:30am the restaurant turns on the music for the workers to get ready to open which again which again can be hear in the room. I got an ocean front room hoping to open the slider to listen and relax to the ocean, not possible except between maybe 11:30pm and 5am. Restaurant is relaxing and staff is great- Breakfast Buffet is the star of the restaurant. Avoid BBQ buffet on Friday evening. The staff is very friendly and again you couldn't ask for a better location. Oh and supposedly part of your $40/day pays for the hotel supplying your reef safe sunscreen, unfortunately they lock it up in the activities shack so if you need it after 5pm or early in the morning for a snorkel tour you can't get to it. I tried to put some in a small travel container so my wife and I would have some for our morning snorkel tour and they told us no containers. If they really cared about the reef this wouldn't be an issue and it was really irritating since we actually are paying for it but can't use it. Oh yeah, but you can buy some to take with you at the shack.

Message: Best thing is the location, where you walk out the back to the beach. And the views are amazing from the various sides.. Rooms were nice and pretty clean, though you could smell that pets were in there. But that got better over time.. Having the luau on site was nice and that was a nice experience.. We loved that they hire live music in the back each evening.. One bummer is paying $30/day to park in their own lot. Usually that's assumed as part of the room. And another $30 for "resort fee" I could do without. Hidden nickel n dime costs suck.

Message: The grounds were absolutely breathtaking, and it was a few steps from the beach! The Luau was fabulous - great food and open bar! The restaurant was great too, with live entertainment in the evenings. The concierge was very helpful with planning off-site activities. Also, they have great on-site activities - visited the cultural center for an informative history lesson from natives and took a fun hula lesson! There was a convenient little trolley that took us to Whalers Village and a nearby shopping center. Our room was clean and had a beautiful view of the ocean. The furniture was a bit worn but I would definitely stay there again!

Message: Overall an amazing place to stay! All of the staff was wonderful, friendly, and helpful. Beautiful location right on the beach with breathtaking views from the rooms. The Cultural Center at the resort was one of the best parts of our stay. The staff at the Cultural Center was fantastic and they were very knowledgeable on everything they taught. They were very welcoming and willing to answer any questions you had. Can’t wait for our next stay here!

Message: I did not stay at the hotel but attended a Luau. It was the perfect setting. Service was great and so was the food. They are pros at what they do since everything was well organized. I was very impressed with the whole show and recommended it to everyone. It is a bit on the expensive side but definitely worth it. I would skip the VIP as the regular ticket includes buffet and unlimited drinks and you have a great view of the stage everywhere you sit.

Message: Arrived and everything was great. Great check in and arrival. The staff was great getting us to the room. We were in a deluxe oceanfront bungalow and the view was spectacular. The drawback to this place is for sure the staffing. We had one great meal for that dinner and watched the sunset while eating. After that, the level of service went down. Did not get the room properly cleaned the one time is was scheduled to be cleaned and had to call and then go to the front desk to get shampoos that were not restocked on that visit as there was not an immediate response to my phone call. The last dinner there we had to go to the bar to get refills as the server was distracted. This might seem pretty small stuff, but we spent a lot to stay there and have expectations that everything will be perfect. The rest of the stay was perfect with spotting sea turtles while swimming on the beach and strolling the beach walk. If this place gets the staff in order it will be phenomenal.

Message: The views from this place is amazing. We had the room facing 80% to the ocean and the rest to the mountains, I would say that it is definitely the best combination for a room. The place is very welcoming and very friendly. You get greeted with a smile once you pulled into the check-in driveway.. Amazing place! Would come back again!
